This Data Protection Policy describes how Resman Exchange approaches the protection of personal data.
This document may have been reviewed or updated since the effective date shown. The effective date does not mean that any new or revised provision was published to, or accepted by, customers on that date, and it does not create retroactive acceptance of new terms. Any amendment will be communicated and will take effect in accordance with applicable law.
1. Purpose and Scope
This Data Protection Policy sets out how Resman Investment Limited, operating as Resman Exchange, approaches the protection of personal data processed in connection with ResmanApp and related services, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other applicable law. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. Governance and Accountability
Management is responsible for data protection within the Company. We aim to process personal data lawfully, fairly and transparently; collect only what is necessary for specified purposes; keep it accurate; retain it no longer than necessary; and protect it appropriately.
3. Access Controls and Confidentiality
Access to personal data is intended to be limited to personnel and service providers who need it to perform their roles. Persons with access are expected to keep personal data confidential.
4. Information Security
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk of the processing, intended to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction.
5. Data Retention
Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to meet legal, regulatory, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
6. Service-Provider Oversight
Where service providers process personal data on our behalf, we seek to engage providers that offer appropriate data protection safeguards and to put in place contractual terms requiring them to protect personal data and process it only on our instructions.
7. Data-Subject Requests
Requests to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to or port personal data, or to withdraw consent, can be sent to info@resmanexchange.com. We will verify the requester's identity and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
8. Personal Data Breach Response
If a personal data breach occurs, we will act to contain and assess it, and, where required by applicable law, notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission and affected individuals within the required timeframes.
9. Review
This policy may be reviewed and updated from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in accordance with applicable law.
